Artist Statement:
The process of drawing is, before all else, the process of putting the visual intelligence into action, the very mechanics of visual thought. Unlike painting and sculpture it is the process by which the artist makes clear to himself, and not to the spectator, what he is doing. It is a soliloquy before it becomes communication.

Art has been the core of my being ever since I was young. I started taking an interest in art somewhere around seven years of age when I began drawing. I drew things from my imagination. Anything that came to my mind was material for drawing. As a kid I never thought art would really get me anywhere but what was certain was that I loved to draw and create things. Whether it was doodling on homework, drawing in a sketchbook, or maybe even making a character in a game, detail and creation was everything. Now as I grow older I’m learning that ability in this is something that’s sought after in a great many different professions, and that in itself only fuels my love for drawing and creating art even more.
Personally what I make by choice never comes from an image. Everything I choose to create is all from my imagination, whether it be an adaption of something or a completely independent thought, I strive to put my own distinct brand on my art. I make my art personal, both in style and meaning. In the end I make art for myself. Art is something which personally I can never give up.
The pencil has always been my weapon of choice. The tool itself is so versatile that I don’t think in all my coming years I will part with it. Sketching and drawing are the foundation of everything, from art to real world media. In this respect I will continue to build upon my skill with the pencil. I feel my beginnings as an artist are only a budding flame, and eventually given the opportunity I really hope to prove myself and make a living from this thing I love doing.
